We would like to thank all of the 95 parents that were able to fill out the questionnaire – a really huge response! Having this many responses helps us to know that we are getting a much more accurate reflection of our parents’ views than if only a small number completed it – so thank you very much to all those parents who were able to take the time to fill out the form. All of the feedback that we receive helps us improve and deliver the kind of provision that parents want. The feedback we received was extremely positive, but we will continue to work hard to ensure that all parents are entirely happy with each and every aspect of the school’s provision.
The following is a summary of the outcomes of the questionnaire:
Only 2 out of 95 parents said that overall behaviour was not good at CPS;
We would like to thank all of the 124 parents that were able to fill out a questionnaire. The feedback we received was extremely positive with these aspects of the schools’ work being particularly popular:
100% of parents said that their child made good progress at CPS; 100% said that their child was taught well; 99% said that their child feels safe at CPS; 97% said that their child was happy at CPS; and 99% said that their child was well looked after at CPS. Overall, 96% of the 124 parents surveyed said that they would recommend CPS to other parents, which is a very pleasing statistic. Similarly, 120 out of 124 said that behaviour was good and that the school was well-led, which, again, was pleasing. Some of the comments on the questionnaire sheets were really interesting and helpful; some parents for example, saying that sometimes homework takes too long to complete, and then some other parents saying that they wanted more. With this in mind, we are reviewing the quantity of homework given out and are double-checking that it is just the right amount in all of the respective yeargroups.
New Reception Parents Survey Results Summary
We also did a questionnaire aimed at the new Reception parents (as well as asking them to fill in the general whole-school one) to see what it was that led them to choose CPS for their child. It transpires from the survey results that a whole range of things are important to parents when choosing a school, but the one that was slightly higher than the other considerations was receiving a warm welcome when they came to have a look around. At CPS, we have tended to do lots of small scale showings for parents (rather than one or two big ‘open-days’) including viewing assemblies, and this appears to be a popular way of doing things, so we’ll continue with this approach.
