PE, School Council & YRec Class Link-Governor

Biography

As an ex pupil whose father, grandmother, brother and cousins came to this school, I was thrilled when my son Oscar was offered a place at Clerkenwell.

The fact members of my family have been taught here for nearly 100 years now, is something I’m very proud of, and in this day and age also quite unique.

It was because I have such a historical affiliation with the school that I put myself forward for the role of Parent Governor. Over the years the school has given myself and my family so much, I felt it was my opportunity to give something back.

My first year as a Governor has been a bit of a learning curve but I’m enjoying it very much and along with the rest of the governing board I’m committed to ensuring that the school, head and teachers do the very best for all your children as well as my own.

I have no business or financial conflicts of interest in relation to my role at CPS, and am not a governor at any other school.

Gifted & Talented, EAL & Y2 Aqua Class Link-Governor

Biography

I am the parent of Tsion (Yr 6) and Yeabsera (Yy1).

I believe each child is unique and given the right support will flourish and grow. I have a bachelor degree in Medical Biotechnology and going through university thought me that, the first year of the child's education are crucial to their  academic achievements  and - just as importantly - to their development of social and other skills.

In addition to being a parent, I work as a freelance community  nutrition advisor. My work involves interacting with people from different backgrounds. As a parent governor I can use these  transferable skills to help the school move forward and to continue to provide a positive learning environment for our children.

I have no business or financial conflicts of interest in relation to my role at CPS, and am not a governor at any other school.

Safeguarding & SEN Link Governor

Biography

I first served on the Governing Body as a foundation governor in 2008 and I was re-appointed in 2014. I have lived locally to the school for 15 years and my daughter Sydney attended Clerkenwell Parochial joining Reception in 2007 and leaving Y6 in 2014. During these years I have built strong relationships within the local community, school and church.  We are active members at St James church and being an ex parent of Clerkenwell, I know many of the children who attend not only from the school but through church activity clubs and sometimes helping at Rainbows.

I have no business or financial conflicts of interest in relation to my role at CPS, and am not a governor at any other school.
