The leaflet will be updated shortly before each holiday, including half term breaks. You can use the link above to print a copy of the most recent Holiday Playschemes list to give you an idea of which schemes are likely to be running.

Holiday schemes are run by a wide range of community and council funded organisations, mainly for children aged five to 14 years. Some nurseries have told us that they can take extra children aged three and four years as well. There are some schemes designed for disabled children and young people and those with additional needs. Many of the schemes run during every holiday, apart from over the Christmas period.

Childminders can also provide holiday childcare. Use the directory to find a childminder in your area, or phone the Family Information Service for advice, 020 7527 5959.

Access to Sports runs free activities during holidays; see website for details.

Easter Lunch Bunch for Families in Islington

Discovery London will be running two very exciting Junior Discovery sessions at our Islington facility during the Easter school holiday. These sessions will take place on Monday 8th of April for local children with special education needs. Please see the following details:

Discovery is all about providing and nurturing digital skills for people of all ages and capabilities. Everything we provide is free of charge and we aim to provide a fun and exciting learning experience, in a comfortable and inspiring environment.
Location:  8-9 Upper Street, N1 0PQ, above the Three mobile phone shop, accessible by lift by going into the store itself, across the road from Angel tube station.
The session is a 3D animation running from 10am to 12pm and is for children aged 7-11. Using iPads, children will storyboard and then animate their own cartoon in the Toontastic app. They’ll plan a story and choose a setting, then move and record voices for their characters.
Booking is essential for these sessions and this can be done by emailing or booking directly on the website Here, you’ll need to click the ‘Islington’ button and select  8th of April from the calendar and you’ll then see the sessions and the button to book. Parents stay for the session to make children as comfortable as possible and we have plenty of space and comfy seating.
